Neurological Condition Linked to Obesity Surgery A study in the journal Neurology described the cases of 27 women and five men who, after bariatric surgery, developed Wernicke encephalopathy, a neurological condition most often seen in severe alcoholics that is linked to vitamin deficiencies.
